Stella By Starlight
Chet Baker
Radio recording from 1964 Italian performance. The sound quality is muddy, but Chet's playing is crisp and inspired. After two Baker standards ("My Funny Valentine" and the title tune) we get to hear some tunes not usually associated with Chet, such as the swinging "Serpent's Tooth" and "When Will The Blues Leave". "Theme For Freddy" is an unusual, but pretty tune penned by Chet.
