All Blues
Rendezvous
Chet Baker / Rachel Gould
A 1979 London date with guitarist Jean-Paul Florens finds out trumpeter in fine form . The gig produced two fantastic LP's. All Blues featured Rachel Gould on most tracks. She's got a fine voice, and she keeps things swinging. Chet even joins in on "Straight, No Chaser" with some scatting.

The highlights of this session include Chet's 2 turns at "My Funny Valentine". Chet re-invented "Valentine" every time he played it. The one on All Blues is almost unrecognizable (which makes it great). He also pairs with Jean-Paul Florens for an intimate duet on "Darn That Dream".

Select tracks from these 2 LP's appear as Round Midnight (Challenge Records) on CD.
