Chet Baker Quartet
Russ Freeman proved to be invaluable to Chet Baker's new quartet, for although Chet was the star, Freeman was the bandleader. This CD is a great compilation of their work together. Only a few ballads here, a lot of good, lively bop. Many of the best tunes here were composed by Freeman. The alternate takes on this "limited edition" release are very similar to the regular takes, and were really unnecessary.
