The Gerry Mulligan Quartet
The Gerry Mulligan Quartet
Before Chet Baker signed with Richard Bock for Pacific Jazz, he and Mulligan recorded briefly for Fantasy. They laid down tunes that would become Baker and Mulligan standards for years to come. The original recording of "My Funny Valentine" found here is one of his best, but it is a little strange to hear Chet play with a traditional vibrato.
