Köln  Concert
Chet Baker Quartet
Unreleased for 50 years, the new CD gives us a young Baker swinging with Dick Twardzik less than 2 weeks before the pianist's tragic death. Recording quality is good considering the age, and the tunes are long. Young Chet introduces many of the tunes (even forgetting the name of one!) Playing is crisp and lively, Chet blows hot on "Tommyhawk" and "C.T.A.", and sings sweet on "Someone to Watch Over Me".
