Baker's Holiday
Chet Baker
Along with Baby Breeze, this recording features some of Chet's last great vocal work. He's also seems to have mastered the flugelhorn after struggling a little in earlier recordings. Billie Holiday's mostly melancholy material was a good fit for Chet, and the lush, Nelson Riddle - style arrangements give this album a full sound. The drummer on this session was the great Connie Kay, of The Modern Jazz Quartet.
