Concierto
Jim Hall
One of the best non-Chet-Baker recordings the trumpeter ever participated in. Hall's guitar is smooth and lyrical, Chet's sound complements him greatly. The opus "Concierto de Aranjuez" is a long and lovely piece that never grows tired even at almost 20 minutes long (the piece takes up one whole side of the LP release). On that tune, Hall, Hannah, Baker and Desmond trade beautiful solos and they keep your interest even though the song never really builds to a climax.
