Baby Breeze
Chet Baker
As with Baker's Holiday and The Most Important Jazz Album of 1946/65, this album was an important part of Chet's first comeback in 1964. He swings with some great sidemen, especially on Hal Galper's original tunes. Chet's vocal performances, along with the 2 recordings mentioned above, are arguably his best. "The Touch of Your Lips" will leave no listener cold. His performance of "A Taste Of Honey", while not perfect, is daring in that an untrained singer is performing almost a capella. The CD release contains some interesting bonus tracks. Don't turn off the CD player when you think the last track is finished, there is another 6 minutes of false starts and studio talk.
